Casual game developer Big Fish announced today its partnership with Coinbase to offer Bitcoin payments for its games and in-app purchases.

The studio, which is one of the biggest developers of casual games in the world and has a slew of titles across mobile devices, Mac and Windows PC, will begin offering the new payment option as of today for its Mac and Windows titles. Users will be able to use Bitcoin to buy games directly from Big Fish's website, or for in-app purchases in games like Big Fish Casino, Room of Memory and Bush Wacker 2.

"Being able to offer Bitcoin payments to our consumers through Coinbase is just one more way Big Fish is meeting demand and setting the pace for the mainstream consumer and for the mainstream industry," said Big Fish CEO Paul Thelen. "This is not a test, this payment method will be available worldwide for all of Big Fish PC and Mac games in the Big Fish app store."

Bitcoin is still relatively new in the casual game market. Social and mobile game developer Zynga announced earlier this year that it is "conducting a Bitcoin test" across seven of its titles to further expand its payment options. Those games include FarmVille 2, CastleVille 2, ChefVille, CoasterVille, Hidden Chronicles, Hidden Shadows and CityVille.
